Janney E. Sanders

Janney E. Sanders began his legal career in Toccoa, Georgia in 1978 after completing his law degree at the University of Georgia. He joined Alton M. Adams and Cecil L. Clifton, Jr. in the practice known then as Adams & Clifton, P.C., a general practice firm. Janney has handled almost every type of legal matter over the years including divorce and custody cases, criminal defense trials including such offenses as murder, burglary, drug offenses and others, real estate related litigation, business and banking litigation and personal injury and wrongful death, including trials pertaining to all such areas of law. Janney now limits his practice to residential and commercial real estate, business law, wills and estate planning and probate. 

Education

 After completing his high school education at Dodge County High School in Eastman, Georgia Janney attended Georgia Tech earning a degree in Industrial Engineering in 1972. Janney worked in engineering for several years before enrolling in the law school at the University of Georgia in 1976. Janney earned his Juris Doctorate degree, magna cum laude, in December, 1978 and was admitted to practice law the same year.



Janney is admitted to practice in the State courts of Georgia and the Northern and Middle Districts of the Georgia Federal Courts. He has successfully argued cases before the Georgia Supreme Court, Georgia Court of Appeals and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a former President of the Mountain Judicial Circuit Bar Association and the Stephens County Bar Association.

Family

Janney has been married to the former Cynthia Cadwell since December, 1970 and has 3 children and 6 grandchildren. Janney and his family attend First Baptist Church of Toccoa where he has served as deacon and Sunday school teacher.
